Happy New Year!
Grace and Peace be with all of you!
This is the time of year that we believe that we need to make resolutions. If you last 30 days on that resolution, you are doing well. Why then do we make them? Well…because our culture says that we are supposed to. Those resolutions usually involve health. That’s what the research states. Those resolutions are usually unattainable because the standard is set too high and we set ourselves up for failure.
The question for all of you would be…How will this resolution help me in all aspects of my life and what are some of the small steps that I can take in that direction in order to achieve that change? OOOOhhh. Is it really that simple? YES!
Many (like about 30) years ago, I made a decision. That decision has echoed in a beautiful way throughout my life. You see, I was pretty negative about service. I complained a great deal. One day I woke up and decided that I needed to change this. I made a decision to say or write something nice about every place that I received service. In those days, there were customer comment cards. Today we can review an establishment on social media.
If there was no card then I would take the time to ask to speak to the manager to convey something positive about the establishment. There were times when the only pleasant thing that I could say was that the bathroom was very clean. To this day, I will call over a manager. That person is waiting to be complained to because that is what most people do when they call the manager. It is my delight and privilege to watch the relief and joy from a manager when they hear something positive about their service.
This act has changed my life for the better and has served so many. I challenge you this New Year to find something that is life changing for you that is not a goal to set you up for failure. Very small steps can make a big impact on your life and the lives of others.
Won’t you join me in really reaching within yourself and finding that path?
Many Blessings!
